                                                                   'Anabolic Steroids'

During our first night in Stoke on Trent myself; with John, Andy and Dan, went to spend the night at photojournalist Harry Tyas's house. After a few hours of unexpected partying I met a few interesting people with the photograph above being of one of them.
I decided to title the image 'Anabolic Steroids' because that was the response after asking how he had managed to get so big.

                                                                            'Derelict'

While walking through Burlsem, one of Stoke's 6 towns, I stumbled across this derelict building and, after managing to climb my way into it, came across a lot of empty, run down rooms.
The above, for example, is of a run down toilet with three decrepit cubicles and a large iron pipe which seemed to be pulsating from one part of the room to the other.
Use of strong flash and a wide angle lens helps to portray this creepiness while managing to take in the whole of the area.

My Landscape of Burslem in Stoke on Trent.

Being a very empty, run down area the landscape helps to represent this.
The foreground is mostly empty and bare while a number of buildings help to frame the area.
The colour change to black and white keeps in the sense of emptiness which I felt while visiting the area.

                                                   "Exploring pottery from every Angle"

Taken at The Old Town Hall in Burslem I chose to use this image as it represents some history of Stoke On Trent. Ceramica, "exploring pottery from every angle", is a museum which demonstrates a vast amount of pottery history from Stoke. Open to both Adults and Children I found the museum is a big learning curve for both young and old.

                                                                         'Untitled'

Taken during a visit to Stoke on Trent's Pottery Museum the image is a strong representation of Stoke's pottery history. After seeing a lot of good example of historic art and sculpture at the museum this portrayal stood out the most to me. Black and White keeps in the sense of time and age.

Karen Davies and Andy Rushton have lived on their Canel boat for 9 years.

After retiring as a psychiatric nurse Karen has traveled with her partner Andy non-stop down beautiful british canals living 'a stress free life" with their 18 year old dog Storm.
For me this represents everything presently good in Stoke and, after making the number count for this assignment easier, I thank Andy and Karen for their generous support and lovely story.
